We have issued the first permit for early work on a privately funded Vegas Loop tunnel, connecting the Convention Center (@lvcva) to downtown near @stratvegas.

This permit allows planning to begin, not construction or passenger service. Safety reviews, oversight and additional approvals are required before any future phases.

Interestingly, Las Vegas has 2 separate jurisdictions - Clark County Unincorporated and the City of Las Vegas - the relevant boundary is Sahara Avenue.  Up to this point, TBC has tunneled exclusively in the former (south of Sahara).  Now, TBC can tunnel in the latter (north of Sahara), with potential connectivity to properties such as @StratVegas, @PlazaLasVegas, @CircaLasVegas and more.
