@blgtylr China 🤷🏼♂️ While the USA has a longer railway network than China (220,000 km vs 159,000 km) it is far less electrified (1% vs 75%) and little of it is high-speed rail (763 km vs 45,000 km). The two countries are of similar size (3.6 million square miles for the USA vs 3.7 million).
A lot of people seem to be really struggling to grasp exactly what the Tories have become.
It's no mystery to me- I've seen them up close, at work and play, and I think you guys need to understand what we're dealing with.

@_Embo More cute than stupid: an adult thought that stars ⭐ are five-pointed and made of silver. I told them the actual shape and composition of stars. "Hmm... but they've silver on their surfaces, right? Else why would they be silver coloured... 🤔"
few days ago I replied to a tweet, saying that my local Timpsons guy was a legend, uber helpful beyond his job remit, always cheery & up for a chat with customers. We often talk F1 & Alfa Romeo (he has a 147 that needs work, is SORN no MOT). Yesterday he called me over to him 1/n
Brits & non-Brits alike struggle to understand what’s going on in GB & NI. Not a new phenomenon. But acutely important. Brexit & other slow punctures endangering the UK Transit-Van-of-State look likely to result in a catastrophic blow-out.
The Conservative Party is key.
A 🧵/1.
Please retweet this many, many, many times. It's horrific.
@MarinaHyde is so right.
Why isn't this is a huge scandal?

@AJamesMcCarthy Andrew, I'm a professional astronomer (planet discovery and characterization) and I enjoy both your work and your threads very much; I'm looking forward to watching Moonshot.
@blgtylr It's wonderful; I listened to Timothy West's narration. Having piqued a friend's interest, I gifted them a physical copy. They read the introduction and reflexively messaged "I can't believe they revealed <spoiler>". I was still listening,dear reader,& was not yet up to that part
The con is to believe the tax-based NHS system is somehow broken and that a new way of paying for healthcare will fix it. There is no cheaper way. Nothing the govt has planned costs less. The public always pay for healthcare.
Let me explain…
