Due to potential weather issues, the decision has been made to postpone our 7v7 games for tonight. We will now play next TUESDAY at Calvert Park at 6 and 730 pm. We will also play on Wednesday as well, as originally scheduled. Thank you for understanding!
LB Track the Hip Drill
- The "track the hip" drill is designed to create a sense of urgency for linebackers to reach the ball carrier.
- Coaches should emphasize closing ground quickly to minimize the ball carrier's gain.
- Players must maintain a downhill angle rather than a flat angle to ensure they meet the runner as soon as possible.
- The goal is for the defender to make the tackle before the ball carrier reaches a specific designated line, such as the midsection of the drill area.
- Linebackers need to remain aggressive and attack the ball carrier while maintaining proper leverage.
- Using a "near foot, near foot" technique is essential for the tackler to successfully maintain leverage during the play.
