@the_transit_guy Caruso’s Grocery on Capitol Hill is the best Italian-American food I’ve had. Blows the old school/classic red sauce joints out of the water. If you like theater, I’d recommend a visit to Shakespeare Theater Company. It’s the best classic theater company in the U.S.

@mfjlewis I don’t really understand why a “return to orthodoxy” gets so easily and quickly assumed into something much more akin to fundamentalism, but it seems to happen all the time.

@mfjlewis Ah well that makes sense. I’ve known a number of really lovely young Dominicans, but I do worry a bit that the order (at least in the U.S.) is swinging towards a new type of fundamentalism in the younger friars reactions against the “liberalism” of the prior gen of friars.
