Govt web manager in Defra - v rarely tweet about work, views mine not employer's; retweets or faves not endorsement etc. Pics may contain trains or planes.
@janetedavis@LouLouK I put my "lounging fleece" <coughs> on and was too hot. Back in shirtsleeves and marginal. 21-22 degrees indoors, on my happy cusp.
@LouLouK I can't think of the last time anyone I know would have seen me in shorts. I need to be very comfortable with someone to chance bare feet and sandals. But I'm natch an antisocial hermit. Gosh this is a bit, you know?
@LouLouK I have never worn socks with sandals.*
* Ok I have but not for very many years and never for play; men and bare feet and work is really not good imho.
@LouLouK Is - complex. Is both personal + medical + acclimatisation. Weird thing is how much most people do acclimatise after eg 10-14 days. And why we're now freezing when temps drop. But - as ever, if cold put a jumper on...
So far this summer, we've had 26 days of 30C or over and 65 days of 25C or over.
In 1976 we saw 24 days above 30C.
30C+ days in previous years:
2017: 7
2016: 8
2015: 3
2014: 3
2013: 12
2012: 5
2011: 3
2010: 6
2009: 5
2008: 2
And summer's not over yet! Jo
Definitive signs that normal British summer weather has returned;
- it’s rained continuously for more than 10 mins 🌧
- there are puddles💦
- you’re wearing a jacket🧥
- you’ve got an umbrella up ☔️
- you’ve walked to work without breaking into a sweat 😰
Can anyone help in locating where these images were taken. Found in a old suitcase stuffed with negatives, which were transferred to Watford when the Surrey Advertiser archive moved. From other images found it may be somewhere on the English South Coast. Any Thoughts?
I have personally written firmware for actual voting machines and I endorse these sentiments 100 fucking percent.
Paper ballots and scrutineers eyes are the only way to prevent shifty fuckery and even then we need to be vigilant.
@voiceovergirl I wasn't - you know, expecting - today's weather. It rained lots. We've had thunder tonight too. I screwed up. But it's v good for the ground hereabouts.
