"AI is a force multiplier."
Zero times ten is still zero.
Non-designers ship fast with AI. They just don't know what they shipped.
Designers ship at the same speed. The eye catches what AI got wrong. The judgment knows when "looks fine" isn't. The craft fills in everything the prompt didn't specify.
Same tool. Different ceiling.
AI isn't coming for your craft. It's coming for the version of you that refused to learn it.
A month ago Anthropic dropped Claude Design.
LinkedIn declared "designers are dead" and "Figma is over."
30 days later. Where are the demos? The viral builds? The shipped products?
Silence.
Generating a UI is easy. Designing something people actually want to use is the hard part. And designers are still opening Figma every morning to do it.
Designers aren't dead. Figma isn't dying. The lazy takes are.
