It’s SO bad. I had a situation this week where Xcode froze, but Opus 5 could still see and manually run things. I used the new iPhone simulator (which was a black screen because Xcode was frozen) and had to code by having opus send me screenshots and manually run builds to my phone 😭I straight up had to use terminal to run Xcode because it was so broken

@gailcweiner I wish this helped me! I have N24 and go to sleep 5hrs later every day. In my night phases, Opus 5 still tells me “it’s 3am and I’ve made a lot of mistakes. Let’s revisit in the morning.” Opus, it IS my morning. We’re literally coding a sleep disorder app together, please stop 😭

@jessicareginabr I actually love Opus 5! It’s a phenomenal model. This is just an annoyance I think they haven’t ironed out yet, but it’s just been released. Opus 5 is a godsend, but it’s been annoying to work with

I thought the whole point of Opus 5 was limited hallucinations through the entire 1M context. I hit 40% and it tells me to start a new session. If I continue beyond, it loses its mind and forgets everything up until that point 😭

@lydiahallie Thank you so much for adding steering! Could you please fix the iOS simulator? For me, it shows as a black screen. Claude can see it and send screenshots, but I can’t. Xcode runs just fine, so I’ve been having to use it since I just get a black screen with Claude 😥

A summary of my life rn

My mac doesn’t like Xcode. It’s STRUGGLING, frozen on the Xcode screen. I can’t even click a folder to open. I have to type commands through terminal 😭

I decide to try the new iOS simulator on Claude Code. It’s showing me a black screen. Claude however, CAN see and even take screenshots.

Xcode still doesn’t work. So I’m coding blindly, through screenshots Claude is sending because I can’t even use my own fucking app unless I ask Claude to manually click the build button. I still see nothing.

@amorriscode I’m having issues with the simulator. Claude can clearly see it, but it shows as a black screen for me. So I’ve been having to still use XCode unfortunately 🥹

My husband has been gone for 45 minutes and I’ve been going ham on Opus 5 the whole time. I’ve barely used 1% of my weekly usage (20x) on WEB DESIGN this whole time. I’m fucking impressed (and excited)

@rezoundous For real. It was bad for a few days last week and then there was a noticeable improvement. Meanwhile, I’ve been going through my Codex limits like crazy. All those free Tibo resets felt like they were to cover for how much usage Sol was burning through

I’m loving Opus 5 so far. It does lack the same big model smell as Fable, but it makes a good daily driver so far

I gave the same frontend task to Fable, Sol, and Opus 4.8. Opus 5 did the best on its first try. Other models added the info to the page and made it look okay, but Opus 5 seemed to consider the value of which information went where. It humanized the design and seemed to think about the order
