Happy 18th birthday to Trophies on PSN!🏆🎉
They were implemented via PS3 firmware 2.40 on July 2, 2008.
- Super Stardust HD was the first game to receive Trophies
- Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was the first game to get a Platinum Trophy
- Trophies became mandatory in January 2009
- The original Platinum Trophy was a pink crown
- Metal Gear Solid 4 is the game that took the longest time to receive a Trophy patch. The game launched in June 2008, but received Trophies in August 2012
18 Years of Trophy hunting in the books 👌
Metal Gear Solid 4 is finally set free from the PS3. MGS4 was such an important and key game for the PS3 at the time it released. The console hadn’t really found its footing or turned things around just yet. MGS4 was one of the few, if not THE game to set the console on its path to a come back. Released in 2008, it didn’t get a trophy patch until 2012. Even though frustrating to be locked away for so long, it’s kinda fitting that it’s one of last major PS3 exclusives to be brought forward. It did some heavy lifting for that console
