@Tequilla_UW It does sound pretty good when you put it like that. It just seems a lot of the talk has concluded that Luis and one of Gilbert or Kirby will be gone too.
@Tequilla_UW I’m not saying Hancock is elite, yet. But he’s a part of a whole that is elite. Sloan and Kade will replace Castillo and one of Gilbert/Kirby. If you trade Hancock and can’t resign Skubal, now all of a sudden, you have taken one of your strengths (SP depth) and made it a weakness
@TridentTrue Feels like the hawks and the mariners are so loaded with young talent. This might not be our year but we have many years in our future that can be.
The Mariners have one of the most interesting pitching situations in baseball.
Rather than switch to a 6-man rotation when Bryce Miller came back… they put Luis Castillo & Bryce Miller in a piggy back role.
One starts the game. The other takes over half way.
It rocks.
@CorbinSmithNFL@RobRang@LOSeahawks How concerned should we be with the Dline after 2026? Reed, Leo, Lawrence, Hall, Nwosu, Fowler are all getting older and/or will be free agents. Seems like we could have major holes very soon.
@BaseballGeek72@BrockHuard This would have more merit if the team was performing better but this is an old argument that doesn’t stand the test of time.
@SeahawksForever@Hawksbythesea I mean if he pans out, yes. Time will tell but initial reaction was a little disappointment in giving a 2027 4th for a 2026 5th. I know that is cost of trading from the following year’s draft but it feels steeper bc of the lack of talent this year and supposed surplus next
@SeahawksForever@Hawksbythesea Yeah time will tell. We just haven’t had much luck with day 3 OL outside of UDFA Sundell. I’m just being greedy for that 2027 draft.
@Hawksbythesea@SeahawksForever Agreed. The foundation of the current roster paired with 8 to 12 players from the strong draft next year puts them in such a great spot moving forward. They will have so many young guys under contract control while still being able to pay the key pieces of the Super Bowl roster.
