Takeaways from this season:
•concentrate NIL money down from 11 guys to about 7
•must have a defensive post presence
•need a veteran transfer PG the one and done option burned us.
One of the most concerning themes I've noticed in our tournament games is far too many fast breaks given up. Many of them looked like a lack of effort getting back.
@chrisjoshea3 Agree with this as well. It felt weird bringing back Pryor when we were already 10 deep. Concentrate that NIL to closer to 6 guys than 11. I see what someone like Iowa State did, and like that route.
@chrisjoshea3 Agree. McKneely has been a huge disappointment. I thought we were getting the shooter Ryne was PLUS some ability to make plays. He hasn't been even as good as Ryne. He's also a liability on defense. Not due to lack of effort, just always targeted.
Im not sure you can count on much offensively from Zou game to game, but dammit I think we can count on effort, energy, toughness and defensive prowless, and I'll take that.
I'm not sure the nature of Pryor not playing in the last three games, but if it was effort related, he came to play tonight. Good energy and effort! Love to see it.
Loving the variety of looks we are giving Notre Dame on defense. Kelsey finally experimenting and not being stubborn. Defense has looked really good tonight in the first half.
AJ Dybantsa takes a hard fall, defender made contact with his shoulder on the way down. In clear discomfort. During timeout he pleads to stay in game, and does. You love to see that...
The Kenny Payne era was very polarizing, many backed Payne and said he needed more time, that he inherited a mess, etc. Most logical people knew he wasnt it. The new topic is Mikel Brown. I tend to err on the side that there is more to this than an injury. Just speculation tho.
