@geniebouchard Genie, good form and working hard. Now, go out and play some challengers and lower level events. Competition will help you get back mentally where you were years ago. I would like to see you back in the main draw of the majors. Be realistic. You can do it!
@CaroWozniacki Caroline is doing a great job. Very calm and knowledgeable. Also, did anyone notice that Venus Williams was playing her doubles match with a smaller head racquet? It looked like a Wilson Pro Staff 97. Something different for her.
@Svitoflopina Time for Emma to recommit to the game. She has all the tools, but chooses to leave all her tools in the toolbox. She has lost all of her creditably as a top player. Nobody is scared to play her. Almost a walk over because of mental, injury, or erratic play.
@Svitoflopina The British girls don’t have flashy games, but are hard workers. Most of them are taking out top seeds this week. Raducanu doesn’t want to put in the work. Fame got a hold of her. While the other girls were out on the courts working, Emma was attending parties and premiers.
@geniebouchard Might be a good time for you to drop down to the wta challenger circuit to get a few match wins. Build up your mental as well as physical before hitting the big tournaments. Andre Aggasi did it and it got him back on track.
@SeanMarathon262 I’m glad to see that technology is being shown to affect student’s ability to develop relationships in this book. Nobody really wants to confront that less technology might be better. Real world versus virtual. Time to go outside, ride your bike, and make real friends.
@SeanMarathon262 I try to stay away from being negative about their child. I know it’s probably easier to tell them their child is terrible, but that can make them hostile and they wont listen. Picking words carefully gets the point across without alienating people for the 180 days.
@SeanMarathon262 Talking. Not just about what is wrong or a correction. Discussion about interests of the student and possible connections. I’ve used this practice to make talking about the problem easier. The connection is used for other areas of intervention. #epshacksschooldiscipline
@SeanMarathon262 In a lot of ways, technology has taken away the students’ ability to have personal relations. Also, this is why they cannot show empathy and other important interpersonal skills. #epshacksschooldiscipline
@SeanMarathon262 I think empathy is somethings you can teach, but it is a long process. It can take longer for some students than others. #epshacksschooldiscipline
@EPS_Bobcats I usually ask my students to set something aside and come back to it. Also, talking to a peer also allows constructive collaboration.#epshackingschooldiscipline
@EPS_Bobcats I think taking a higher score is OK. Averaging may not show a student’s full effort if they did badly on the first try. #epshackingschooldiscipline
@EPS_Bobcats I think taking off points for late work is unreasonable but I do believe in retakes on assignments or assessments. We need to give our students every chance to do well but also encourage them take some responsibility. #epshackingschooldiscipline
@EPS_Bobcats One of my students this year is a very fixed mindset. I am working one on one with him and discussing how being successful is easier than not doing what he really needs to do. #optimism
I was part of the growth mindset activities. The chapter I read connected to what we worked on a few years ago. I’m glad to see we are going in the right direction. #epshacksdiscipline
