If you can’t appreciate a bumblebee nosing the nectar from a thistle, a warm sun-ripened raspberry bending on the cane, or a steaming cup of coffee on a cracking cold morning, no amount of money will satisfy you.
@marceelias Our state police decided to hang out at the republican campaign headquarters on duty. Not sure I like paying for that on election day.- Saranac Lake NY 21st
HODGES: Crimea is in deep trouble right now. And the West should not start pressing Ukraine, "Hey, take it easy."
Because Ukrainians are getting closer to possibility of total isolation of Crimean peninsula, making all Russian assets there untenable.
The West also has an opportunity to really severely wreck Russia's oil and gas industry, and their export of it.
All of that would have significant effect on Russian side, Ukrainian side, and also how the rest of us view this conflict.
So, don't take your foot off the pedal. Now is the time that the West should be pressing the gas pedal to the floor.

Republicans, Democrats, and independents: we all pay the same prices. We’re all feeling the same squeeze, and we’re all tired of Washington’s dysfunction.
It’s time for real leadership that puts the North Country first.

If Democrats are serious about winning the midterms they need to hire a seasoned spokesperson to hold daily press conferences. They need to challenge the lies and misinformation that the White House spits out every single day.
Everyone is arguing about the next election.
Almost nobody is asking the question that comes after the election.
That question may determine whether American democracy survives its biggest test.

“US Air Force requested to bring back mandatory flu shots weeks before basic training outbreak” -CNN, June 24th, 8:00 pm EST
They Asked to Stop the Train Wreck.
Washington Said, "Hold On."
That's the story.
Not that the Air Force had a flu outbreak.
Not even that nearly 300 recruits got sick.
The real story is this:
The people closest to the problem saw it coming.
Read that again: THEY. SAW. IT. COMING.
Weeks before America learned hundreds of Air Force recruits were getting f*cking jack-hammered by influenza…Air Force leaders had already asked the Pentagon for permission to restore mandatory flu vaccinations for basic trainees.
Think about that. They wanted to protect our troops, Goddamnit.
The commanders responsible for keeping America's newest airmen healthy looked at the situation and said, in effect:
"We need this authority back."
Why?
Because unlike politicians…they don't get graded on slogans.
They get graded on READINESS.
On healthy recruits.
On training schedules.
On whether America's military can actually perform its mission.
Then…reality arrived.
Basic training isn't a college dorm.
It isn't an office building.
It's thousands of young people…sleeping in open bays…eating together…sweating together…training shoulder-to-shoulder every day.
If influenza were designing its dream environment...
...it would build basic training.
For decades…the military understood that.
That's why mandatory flu vaccination existed in the first place.
Not because someone loved mandates.
Because someone understood history.
Then ideology entered the room.
"Medical autonomy."
"Freedom."
"Choice."
Those are powerful political words.
Unfortunately...
Viruses don't vote.
They don't watch cable news.
They don't care which talking points won the week.
They spread.
The Air Force knew it.
Which is exactly why they asked for the exception BEFORE the outbreak exploded into public view.
Read that again.
BEFORE
That's the part that should make every American pause.
The people responsible for readiness were trying to solve the problem before everyone else even knew one existed.
That's what competent institutions are supposed to do.
Instead…America got another reminder that biology doesn't negotiate with ideology.
Eventually, reality always sends the bill.
And when it does...and it comes as disease…
It doesn't care who was winning the argument. It will snatch your soul right out of your ass…and never even say, “Thanks!”
Vice Adm. Nancy Lacore was fired during Hegseth’s military purge. She could have walked away quietly. Instead...she ran for Congress...and won. History changes when people refuse to stay on the sidelines...and FIGHT.
Trump moved faster than the system could respond: USAID dismantled, habeas effectively suspended for thousands in detention. However, there is hope. Federal judges have pushed back in 150+ cases, and the administration is now losing far more often than it's winning.

Thank you, Northern New York. I’m honored and humbled to earn your support and to be the Democratic nominee for NY-21.
To every volunteer, supporter, and voter who believed in this campaign: thank you.
And to those who supported someone else: if you’re tired of the dysfunction in Washington and ready to put the North Country first, there’s a place for you in this campaign.
Let’s go win in November.
Stop telling me to vote third party in the midterms.
Not this time.
The priority is removing power from this corrupt, pedo protecting, authoritarian, war-hungry administration. That means helping Democrats win enough seats to investigate, block, expose and impeach these people.
