Round of 16 is an incredible accomplishment for a team that only scored its first World Cup goal four years ago, and only won its first World Cup game a couple of weeks ago. Tremendous result, no matter what happens next.
Colin Cowherd goes OFF on the WNBA’s Caitlin Clark snub:
“They dropped a commemorative poster for 30 years of the WNBA. Caitlin Clark isn’t on it… but Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese are.
When she entered the league, they had to move her road games to bigger arenas just to fit her fans. She upgraded the WNBA from Southwest back rows to private jets.
Yet she’s left off the 30-year anniversary poster?
It’s either incompetence or intentional. Both are embarrassing.”
Wow. Someone unexpected is now going to be available at No. 8 to the #NHLJets with Daxon Rudolph going No. 4 to Buffalo.
Viggo Bjorck? Chase Reid? Keaton Verhoeff? Carson Carels??!!
One of them is guaranteed to still be around.
Nothing against Kyle Connor but I’m not sure enough Jet fans realize, Ehlers is and was always the better player. Connor can put up more individual numbers but Ehlers will always help your team
Win more games. Ehlers is a significantly better all around player.
Curacao, ranked 82nd in the world, have Germany, ranked 10th, on the ropes... but let's stop for a "hydration break" in an air-conditioned stadium.
What an absolute farce.
Canes are 2-0 in their last 2 games.
Canes are 7-2 in their last 9 games.
Canes are 16-3 in their last 19 games.
This team isn’t just really good.
This team is elite.
I remember @WPGMurat writing that the Jets didn't believe Nik Ehlers was a playoff player.
They also thought Toews could be a 2C and that Schenn would be better than Salomonsson.
Maybe? We’ve never seen them play in the Stanley Cup Final.
Point is, Ehlers typically wasn’t trusted in late game situations here. Now, on another team with stakes the highest, he is. And excelling.
Points to past issues with usage/role which contributed to his departure IMO.
