Ok, as someone born and raised in Michigan, a few thoughts on Mackinac Island. It’s … fine. Always feels a bit like a theme park. But everyone has their own tastes. I much prefer Traverse City and Marquette. But a LOT of Michiganders don’t love Mackinac.

There are seven College Town counties in Michigan: Washtenaw, Ingham, Kalamazoo, Isabella, Marquette, Houghton and Mecosta, El-Sayed won six of them (all but Mecosta) by double-digits.

1,325,525 AV ballots have been returned, 16.5% more than for the entire August 2022 primary.

Voters can return ballots to dropboxes until 8 p.m. so that number is expected to increase. Between AV ballots and early votes, the state is already at about 20% turnout.
