The NBA has to plant their flag.
They have one of two choices:
1) Stop making tanking taboo and recognize it’s a necessary part of team building in the NBA. Let teams do whatever is necessary to improve their draft positioning without repercussions.
OR
2) Actually enforce anti-tanking provisions in clear cases like the Wizards today. Show you care about tanking. Heavy fines regularly for first time offenses. Potential implications on draft picks for repeat offenders.
The NBA has hovered in the middle, citing taking as a problem but not actually doing anything about it. The league taking this outward “anti-tanking” stance means nothing without enforcement. Pick a lane.
Former Wizards performance in 23-24 (part 1)

- KP: 20/7/2 1.9 BPG on 51/37/85 (57 GP) ? in Finals
- Rui: 13/4/1 on 53/42/74 L in 1st RD of WCP

Paldies visiem, kas mani atbalsta sezonas garumā. Man žēl, ka mana sezona ir beigusies.
Es nezinu, vai atgriezīšos basketbolā
Veiksmi finālā ☘️ Vienmēr būšu daļa no komandas🇱🇻🙌🏼

@rentmyvan247@wheatonbrando@itsAntWright Agreed - it’ll be ~10% of the salary cap & he’ll be a tradable asset for them if they need to move him. He’ll be making around the same as Rui/Lou Dort/Huerter
Year 4 - even though missing out on Haliburton is brutal, Deni was a solid pick.
Haliburton, Maxey, Bane all better
IQ and Vassell the only other two players at a similar level.
If you go off players that’d operate in a similar role to Deni? Bey is the only one that’s close
@Domo8186@_kalilu_ I’ve said it before but a (hypothetical) wizards roster of
- Hali / Delon wright
- Beal
- JDub / Deni
- Kuz / Rui
- KP / Gaff
Would’ve been a legit contender. Still no 1A star & the backcourt would get torn apart on D but IMO would’ve been a decent chance of 50+ wins
