Due to the potential for severe inclement weather, Tuesday, January 9, will be an eLearning Day for all Darlington County School District (DCSD) students. All schools and district offices will be closed as students and employees work from home.

All afterschool activities, including sports and practices, are canceled for Tuesday. Teachers will be available during virtual office hours to assist students, give feedback, and answer questions. Teachers will reach out to students with more information and assignments.

Darlington High School’s football game against Crestwood High School Friday night has been moved to Crestwood. Kickoff is at 6:30 PM.

At this point, secure status has been lifted for all DCSD schools.

Law enforcement has lifted the secure status at DCSD high schools in the Darlington area. Law enforcement will have extra officers at the buildings to help with dismissal. We will dismiss DCSD high schools in the Darlington area at the normal times.

Law enforcement lifted the secure status at DCSD elementary schools in Darlington. We will dismiss elementary schools at the normal times today.

Darlington Middle School will also release at the normal time today. Law enforcement provided extra officers at the buildings to help with dismissal. Darlington-area high schools will remain on secure status until further notice.

Local law enforcement is at the campus and investigating the situation. All DCSD buildings in the Darlington area will remain in a secure status until law enforcement gives us an all clear.

This afternoon, a shooting occurred on the Darlington-Lee Adult Education campus in Darlington. As a precaution, law enforcement placed all buildings and schools in the Darlington area in a secure status. No one can enter or leave the buildings until the Secure status is lifted.
