A step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive space for women and children.

The Mother Feeding-cum-Childcare Corner has been set up and launched at the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) in the presence of Dr. Rashmi Singh, IAS, @rashmisinghIAS Officiating Chairperson, DCW, along with Adv. Neha Rastogi @neharastogilega and Adv. Prem Shankar Singh, Members, Legal Committee, DCW; Dr. Indira Mishra, Member, Expert Committee, DCW; Ms. Lata Negi, Joint Director, WCD; and with the spirited participation of interns and other stakeholders.

As part of this initiative, a Special Reading Corner has also been started to engage children accompanying their mothers, creating a safe, welcoming, and child-friendly environment while women access services at the Commission.

The initiative reflects DCW's continued commitment to ensuring dignity, care, and convenience for women and their children.

Delhi Commission for women convened a meeting of expert members collaborating with the Commission on a pro bono basis to strengthen institutional mechanisms, with a focus on:

 1. Strengthening coordination with One Stop Centres, Women Helpline (181), Police, Courts, Shelter Homes, and NGOs
2. Enhancing legal aid for women
3. Discussing suo motu action in cases of violations of women's rights
 4. Finalizing collaborative initiatives with the National Commission for Women @NCWIndia
 5. Identifying priority areas for consultations on state-specific laws and women's safety initiatives

The Officiating Chairperson, @drrashmisinghias, presided over the meeting and encouraged the participating experts to share their suggestions for building a more responsive, accessible, and effective system to safeguard the rights and dignity of women.

Two days of meaningful dialogue, shared vision, and collective commitment towards women empowerment at Shakti Samvad held in the beautiful land of Jammu & Kashmir on 16th - 17th May 2026, organised by the National Commission for Women @NCWIndia. The conference brought together State Commissions from across the country to deliberate on women’s rights, recent Supreme Court & High Court judgments, workplace dignity, welfare under new labour codes, and building a safer and more equitable society for women.

These enriching discussions reaffirmed that true change begins with dialogue - and meaningful dialogue leads to solutions. Heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Chairperson National Commission for women Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar Ma’am @VijayaRahatkar, for her inspiring leadership and for creating this powerful platform for collaboration and change.

The DCW is committed towards safeguarding women’s rights and dignity and effectively discharging its mandate under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chairperson Dr. Rashmi Singh @rashmisinghIAS and member advisory committee NCW.
