@PaulWhitewick Historically, Repton would seem the obvious place. Offa was a great Mercian king, and Repton was already the established royal mausoleum. Yet no surviving source says he was buried there.

Offa himself is not recorded as buried at Repton. The later tradition places his burial at Bedford, where a chapel and tomb were supposedly lost to the River Ouse

@PaulWhitewick Æthelbald (Offa's predecessor) was buried at Repton. A continuation of Bede records that after his murder at Seckington, his body was taken to Repton for burial

@PaulWhitewick I think that the issue is that the Antiquarian page is referring to an 1880 Ordnance Survey map, not a modern map.
The clue is in the coordinates they give: 5882 8178. On the old National Grid this translates roughly to ST 588 818, just west of Over and north-west of Almondsbury.

@PaulWhitewick I did Telling a couple of times, spent more time explaining what it was about and why. Was mostly very tedious though occasionally abuse from people who wanted to argue politics outside of the polling station. As many others have said, it's mostly just statistics.
