@politicalawake As a Catholic, I don't understand why so many within the Church especially the Jesuits promote progressive ideas in their schools, or why the current Pope seems so accommodating toward Islam.

@Pagan_GMR I see this pattern in many countries: Spain's PP, Germany's CDU, the British Conservative Party, and now Japan's LDP.

They've drifted so far from their original principles that many of these old conservative parties no longer seem right-wing at all.
