Reports out of Westminster say Miliband is sitting on roughly £60 billion of net zero capital – a pot Starmer has eyed up to rescue his shambolic Defence Investment Plan, only to be told “no” by his own Energy Secretary.

While defence ministers are resigning over a derisory settlement and warning that Britain will be less safe, Miliband’s red line is not tanks, munitions or shipyards – it’s ring‑fencing his green spending from even a 1 per cent trim.
