Tasmania has been comprehensively duded by the 2018 Liberal GST reforms. They threaten Tasmania’s schools and hospitals and the ‘top up’ system itself is unsustainable in the long-term.
Unlike the Tasmanian Liberals, Tasmanian Labor never supported this deal. #politas
This media release looks even more ridiculous now than it did then. The deal the Tasmanian Liberal Government agreed to will leave Tasmania worse off for at least a decade. It must be reversed.
Tasmanian racing is being left to drift. The greyhound ban is stalled, the 20‑year funding agreement ends in 2029, and Tasracing still has no appointed chair despite Gene Phair finishing his term. With six racing ministers in eight years, the government’s inaction is pushing the industry toward crisis.

Labor will protect #lgtas candidates and their families by allowing them to authorise materials from their local council office so they don’t have to disclose their home address. This is a barrier to new candidates and is currently only available to incumbents. #politas
If you’re a racing supporter anywhere across Australia, be very aware of the direction of the Liberal Party.
They are on the cusp of destroying the entire Tasmanian racing industry and they are proud of it.

Another "We stand with Tasmania" race in Temora last night.
Another greyhound was injured.
At what point does @JoshWillie1 stand up to @DeanWinterMP? #politas
@TheCalebBond with a BRILLIANT piece regarding the pathetic Rockcliffe Media release, regarding the injury to Rojo Coco in Tasmania.
Watch and share!
Outstanding, Caleb and a heartfelt thank you🙏🏻

But you don’t have to believe me or TasRacing, here is the dog this morning.
The owner tells me no one from the Rockliff Government or the animal welfare agency that put out the statement has checked in. That sums it up.
This is entirely false.
According to @TasracingAus:
“Media reports that greyhound, Rojo Coco, suffered a serious injury during Race 1 in Launceston… are false and misleading.
…Rojo Coco, did fall during the race, resulting in a small graze and a minor nosebleed.” #politas
Nearly every single day, a greyhound is hurt, maimed or killed racing.
Sadly, another dog has received a horrific injury in Launceston overnight.

So you have the Tasmanian Government, at odds with its own racing authority, falsely claiming the dog suffered a ‘horrific’ injury, when the reality is the dog is fine.
Did the Tasmanian Government or Marcus Vermey actually check with TasRacing? I doubt it. They just made it up
I’ve covered hockey for @themercurycomau for over 23 years.
Long enough to remember when it scared the life out of other sports.
Now it’s been punted from the Comm Games and is battling invisibility.

Major news out of England - Brendon McCullum is set to be sacked as Test coach.
Formal announcement as early as today. Still a chance he will continue leading the white ball teams.

Dreamt of that moment my whole life. Never have wanted anything more than to have been able to produce and come through for the team and nation in a moment like that. Unfortunately I fell short and am sorry the dream has come to an end as a result. Hurting is an understatement, but I’ll live with it and take the lessons and use them for whatever else life throws at me down the track.
Incredibly proud of the team and my teammates for their performances throughout and once again captivating the nation and creating some memories we’ll all never forget.
To the staff for their commitment to providing the players with all they need to prepare and perform to the best of their abilities.
Lastly to the supporters who are always the ones who make the experiences as special as they are through the ways in which they go about supporting the team. The atmospheres in the stadiums, the footage back home of the live sites and everything in between, making all the triumphant memories all the more special, thank you 🙏🏼.
