@nytimes And here we have a clear example of the very slippery slope of licensing beloved characters. If you are a fan of Calvin & Hobbes, be grateful that Watterson made the decision long ago to preserve his characters’ integrity, refusing to let them slide off into the abyss.

I finally got around to watching @DearMrWatterson and I'm glad I did. I don't always enjoy documentaries, but this one was not only respectful of the introverted Mr. Watterson, it also beautifully celebrated the magic of his strip.
