Thank you @MehboobaMufti Ji, for your support.
Under the current regime, political violence and intimidation have become alarmingly normalised. Opposition leaders are being attacked in broad daylight, stones are being hurled, and democratic dissent is being met with State-sponsored hostility.
But such acts will NEVER DETER US. If anything, they only strengthen our resolve to build a safer, more just and peaceful India - an India that stands united against hatred, violence and political intimidation.
I am deeply grateful for your support and solidarity, @yadavakhilesh Ji.
What transpired yesterday was not the act of a few unruly elements.
Governments are judged not only by what they do, but also by what they deliberately choose not to do.
Withdrawing an opposition MP’s security cover, refusing to deploy police despite clear warnings and allowing armed hooligans to operate with impunity reveals a disturbing truth.
This was not negligence. This was a conscious abdication of responsibility that paved the way for a premeditated act of political violence.
But those who think violence can break our spirit are mistaken. Every attack only strengthens our resolve and commitment to UNITEDLY FIGHT FOR THE PEOPLE OF INDIA.
Publicly worshipping the cow. Privately funded by those who profit from it.
The cameras see devotion. The balance sheets see something else.
Quite a model of morality!
Just saw a few forwards that one Abhishek Banerjee & Sayani Ghosh jointly own a property namely 19 D Seven Tanks Road, Kolkata 700030 with no mobile number as a contact.
I can’t say who it is But It’s definitely not the Sayani Ghosh who started from a humble background with no windfall profits made from politics till date. People simply blessed me & I am grateful.
I want my voters to know my assets have been declared on my election affidavit. Check the records.
For those trying to defame me without any evidence -
STOP NOW!
Please know, I won’t budge an inch, I won’t let it pass. Legal action will be taken for spreading fake news. This ‘Ghosh’ wont be bullied.
P.s: I belong to the land of kobiguru;
‘Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high.’
From homes to hawker stalls, the poor are paying the price of political arrogance. Bengal does not believe in bulldozer politics. The land of Tagore and Netaji cannot be ruled through fear, force, and demolition drives against ordinary citizens.
What we are witnessing today is an attack on the dignity of the people of Bengal- daily wage workers, street vendors, small shopkeepers, and struggling families who have built their lives brick by brick. The massive eviction drive around Howrah Station, the unrest and anger erupting on the streets of Tiljala and Park Circus, and the growing desperation among those suddenly stripped of shelter and livelihood expose a government more obsessed with optics than humanity.
A government that demolishes first and listens later has forgotten the very spirit of Bengal. Real progress is measured by how a state treats its weakest citizens, not by how quickly it can erase them.
Bulldozers cannot become the language of governance in a state built on culture, compassion, and resistance to oppression.
India FAILED YOU, dear Swapna. @Swapna_Barman96
The first Indian heptathlete to win an Asian Games Gold Medal for the nation, Swapna Barman carried India’s flag with pride on the global stage. She later joined the Trinamool Congress with the hope of serving people and was our candidate from Rajganj Assembly Constituency in Jalpaiguri.
Yesterday, @BJP4Bengal GOONS SET FIRE TO HER HOME. Let that sink in.
An athlete who brought glory to the nation is being repaid with violence, intimidation and fear - simply because she chose to stand with the Trinamool Congress.
THIS is the grim reality under @BJP4India’s watch.
THIS is the 'Parivartan' they promised.
The @BJP4India govt must answer. This CANNOT become the new normal. If supporting the Trinamool Congress now means risking your safety, your family and even your home, WHERE ARE WE HEADED, AS A NATION?
If this is how an athlete who brought glory to India is treated for her political choices, the state of democracy should worry EVERY Indian.
Bengal is already witnessing a DOUBLE ENGINE DISASTER.
In Khejuri’s Jonka GP, West Bhangan Mari area, nearly 10 shops were allegedly set ablaze last night by BJP miscreants, right in front of the police. Entire livelihoods have been reduced to ashes because hatred and intimidation are now being used as political tools.
This is the true face of the politics preached by @AmitShah and @BJP4India - division, fear and targeted violence carried out with complete impunity.
Where are the Central Forces now? Or are they deployed only when it suits the BJP’s political agenda? Is the Home Minister watching in silence while Bengal burns?
If shops can be torched and communities terrorised in broad daylight, what remains of law and order? The message being sent is loud and dangerous - under BJP’s shadow, violence appears protected.
And as they say, the morning shows the day.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on their impressive victory in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. I also convey my warm wishes to Shri @TVKVijayHQ on being sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
This verdict reflects the aspirations, trust and democratic will of the people of Tamil Nadu. I am confident that under his leadership, Tamil Nadu will continue its journey of progress, welfare and inclusive development.
Wishing him and his government success in serving the people with dedication and commitment.
Is this how you plan to drive “Bhoi” out? By setting Bengal on fire?
What unfolded in Khejuri’s Nichkasba GP, Hijli Sharif is nothing short of barbaric.
Over 60 shops were torched by BJP-backed miscreants, destroying the livelihoods of innocent people overnight. Hindu-owned shops, Muslim-owned shops, it made no difference. This was not an attack on any one community; it was a calculated assault on Bengal’s social harmony, democratic fabric and the ordinary citizens who simply want to live in peace.
This is the true face of BJP’s politics: hatred, intimidation and destruction.
Bengal will never surrender to such violence. Those responsible for this shameful act must be identified and brought to justice at the earliest.
@WBPolice@HMOIndia@PMOIndia@narendramodi
We have fought an extremely difficult election where nearly 30 lakh genuine voters were allegedly disenfranchised from the electoral rolls. Throughout this entire process, we witnessed what we believe was deeply partisan conduct by several government agencies as well as the Election Commission of India.
Democratic institutions that are meant to function impartially appeared compromised, raising serious concerns about the fairness, credibility and transparency of the electoral process in West Bengal.
From the counting process to allegations surrounding the handling and movement of EVMs, Mismatch of Control Units, several disturbing incidents have left millions of people questioning whether the true mandate of the people has been respected. I have already demanded the release of CCTV FOOTAGE FROM THE COUNTING CENTRES and a transparent counting of VVPAT slips so that the truth can come before the people and every doubt can be addressed openly and honestly.
Democracy can only survive when electoral institutions inspire trust and confidence among citizens. Unfortunately, what we have witnessed has deeply shaken that trust.
At the same time, reports of post-poll violence, attacks on party offices, intimidation of our party workers and threats against supporters are deeply alarming and unacceptable in a democratic society. Many dedicated Trinamool workers and supporters who fought tirelessly on the ground have allegedly faced targeted attacks and have been forced to flee their homes out of fear and insecurity. No political worker in a democracy should ever have to choose between their safety and their political beliefs.
Keeping the democratic traditions of this great nation above everything else, my colleagues and I in the Trinamool Congress will continue to stand firmly with the people of West Bengal and with every Trinamool worker who fought tooth and nail against what we believe was a compromised electoral machinery.
We will continue to be a strong, vocal and uncompromising opposition both in Delhi and WB.
Under the guidance and leadership of Mamata Banerjee, our fight for democracy, constitutional values and the rights and dignity of the people will continue without fear and without compromise.
I urge every Trinamool supporter and worker to stay strong and united during this difficult time. If anyone has been subjected to post-poll violence, intimidation, or threats, I request them to reach out and share their details with me or DM me. I will do everything within my capacity to ensure their safety and security and pursue every available legal and democratic remedy. I will stand shoulder to shoulder with every Trinamool worker and supporter in this fight to ensure that truth prevails and that both governments now work genuinely in the interests of the people of West Bengal.

Today, the people of Howrah Madhya, Kolkata Port, Bhabanipur made a declaration. The spontaneous participation, the energy, the sheer presence of the people have made one truth impossible to ignore. The mandate of Bengal stands firmly, proudly, and irrevocably with Maa-Mati-Manush.
In this sacred land where all religions, all communities, and all voices have always coexisted in harmony, the people have spoken with a resounding, unified voice that there is no place here for divisive, Bangla-Birodhi BJP. No place for those who come to this land with hatred in their hearts and hollow promises on their lips. Bengal chooses development. Bengal chooses dignity. Bengal chooses progress.
I earnestly appeal to every citizen, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, or language, to press the Joraphool button and deliver a resounding victory for Arup Roy from Howrah Madhya, Dr. Rana Chatterjee from Shibpur, Nandita Choudhary from Howrah Dakshin, and Firhad Hakim from Kolkata Port.
Together, we will realise the vision of a Swanirbhor, prosperous Bengal. Together, we will accelerate the pace of development that has already transformed millions of lives. And together, we will ensure that this land remains what it has always been. Free, harmonious, and its own.
Across Chowrangee, Bhabanipur, Jadavpur and Tollyganj, I saw people turn out with clear intent, determined, united, and ready to defend Bengal, its identity, and its future. Those who believe they can run Bengal from Delhi, dictate its politics, divide its people, and distort its culture are deeply mistaken. This land has a long memory and a stronger spine.
Those sitting in Delhi, plotting to snatch Bengal’s rights and impose their agenda, should understand it clearly that the people of Bengal are watching, and they will respond through their vote. Every attempt to undermine Bengal will be met with a decisive democratic pushback. This election is about resisting a systematic attempt to weaken Bengal and control it.
Development has reached every doorstep in Bengal despite constant obstruction. Our welfare schemes are lifelines, and no force, however powerful it believes itself to be, can take that away from the people. Bengal stands tall today, for progress, for peace, and for dignity. The love and trust of the people are our greatest strength. They drive us forward and will defeat every attempt to weaken Bengal.
I urge every citizen to rise above differences, stand united, and vote to protect Bengal’s language, culture, and future. Vote for Nayna Bandopadhyay in Chowrangee, Debabrata Majumdar in Jadavpur, Aroop Biswas in Tollyganj, and every Maa-Mati-Manush candidate.
The Prime Minister and the Home Minister speak endlessly about Nari Shakti. They posture on women’s empowerment and perform outrage for the cameras.
But their conduct tells a different story. The Prime Minister publicly mocks a three-time elected woman Chief Minister with “Didi O Didi,” delivered with visible condescension. The Home Minister echoes it with “Ei Didi,” reducing a respected leader to a taunt.
This is the “Poriborton” the BJP seeks to import into Bengal from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. It is not change, it is a regression in values. An insult to Bengal. An insult to every woman in this state and across the country.
On 4th May, the people of Bengal will deliver a verdict that cuts through this hypocrisy once and for all. And that response will be decisive enough to remind these ZAMINDARS that respect for women is not a slogan, it is a standard!
It is deeply unfortunate that the Prime Minister chose to mislead the nation rather than address it honestly.
Let me put this on record. Trinamool Congress has always championed higher political representation for women. We have the highest proportion of female elected representatives in both Parliament and the State Legislature. In the Lok Sabha, 37.9% of our elected members are women. In the Rajya Sabha, we have nominated 46% women members. The question of opposing Women's Reservation does not arise and never has.
What we are fundamentally opposed to is the Delimitation exercise that the Modi Government was plotting to push through by using women as a shield for its vested political agenda. What we are fundamentally opposed to is the altering of Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution, the division of this nation and the usurpation of power through gerrymandering, by redrawing political contours to hand greater representation to BJP-ruled states at the expense of others. This is an assault on federal democracy. And we will not watch it happen in silence.
If this government was genuinely serious about this noble cause, why did it wait nearly three years after the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill on September 28, 2023? Why rush it through when several states are in election? And why couple it with Delimitation? Trinamool Congress has stood for women for decades. We will continue to. But we will not be lectured on a subject that the ruling dispensation neither understands nor respects.
And Mr. Prime Minister, the next time you address the nation, have the courage to do so from the Floor of Parliament, where you are subject to scrutiny, challenge and accountability. What you did yesterday was cowardly, hypocritical and fork-tongued. You can feel power slipping through your fingers. And you are prepared to go to any extent to hold on for just a little while longer.
That is all this was.
Janasabhas at Cooch Behar Uttar, Cooch Behar Dakshin, Dum Dum, Dum Dum Uttar, and roadshow at Durgapur Paschim were a luminous expression of people's boundless faith in a politics that is of the people, by the people, and for the people. In every face, in every pair of eyes, was written a steely conviction and an indomitable resolve to protect the Bengal we have built together and secure the future we deserve.
Bengal has always been a symbol of peace, unity, and harmony. There is no place for hatred, division, or conspiracy on this soil. There never has been. And no matter how much misinformation is unleashed or confusion manufactured, the people of Bengal will always choose development over destruction, progress over propaganda.
Setting aside every distinction of caste, creed, and religion, I appeal to each and every one of my mothers, brothers, and sisters to vote for the Joraphool and secure a massive, historic victory for Partha Pratim Roy from Cooch Behar Uttar, Sablu Barman from Mathabhanga, Sailen Barma from Natabari, Shib Sankar Paul from Tufanganj, Avijit De Bhowmick from Cooch Behar Dakshin, Harihar Das from Sitalkuchi, Kavi Dutta from Durgapur Paschim, Bratya Basu from Dum Dum, Chandrima Bhattacharya from Dum Dum Uttar, and every Maa-Mati-Manush candidate across Bengal.
Together, we will keep Bengal's unity and culture intact. Together, we will prevail.
