As Trump attacks trans rights, we're reminded of Magnus Hirschfeld, a pioneer in studying sexuality and pushing for reforms in Weimar Germany. A gay Jew, his works were burned by the Nazis in an attempt to erase queer people both literally and figuratively. We will outlive them.
