Deciding between free bleeding or wearing a pad on the 4th /5th day of your period is crazy .
If you choose to free bleed, you’ll actually bleed, but if you wear a pad , nothing happens 😂
I borrowed an umbrella from my Airbnb host in Kyoto. I forgot to return it when I checked out, and realized when I was already on the train to Osaka.
I felt terrible. It was a nice umbrella, not a cheap one. I messaged the host apologizing.
She responded: "No problem! Enjoy the umbrella. It's yours now."
I said I'd mail it back. She said "please don't. Postage costs more than an umbrella. Just use it and think of Kyoto when it rains."
I insisted I wanted to return it. She said "okay, but I have a different idea. Next time you see someone who needs an umbrella and doesn't have one, give them this umbrella. Tell them to do the same when they are finished with it. Maybe an umbrella travels all around Japan helping people."
That idea was so beautiful I agreed.
Two weeks later I was in Hiroshima and it started pouring. A woman with a baby was standing under an awning looking stressed. No umbrella, the baby was crying.
I walked over and gave her the umbrella. Told her the story in broken Japanese. She understood enough.
She tried to refuse but I insisted. Told her "when you're done with it, give it to someone else who needs it."
She nodded, said thank you about ten times, and hurried off with her baby.
I got soaked walking back to my hotel but felt good about it.
Sometimes I wonder where that umbrella is now. Hope it's still traveling, still helping people.
Every year reminds me that it’s not by power or might, but by Spirit.
I’m committed more than ever to the assignment raising men, changing lives, and advancing Your Kingdom.
Thank You, Jesus, for grace, growth, and purpose.
Grateful for another year happy birthday to me

I’m moving tomorrow and the older lady who lives next to me stopped me in the hallway tonight. She said, “I’m really going to miss you.” I smiled and told her I’d miss her too, and then she said something that completely broke me.
She told me every time I went out at night with my friends, she would stay up. She wouldn’t turn off her TV, wouldn’t go to bed, wouldn’t fully relax until she heard my door close and knew I made it home safe.
This whole time I thought I was just living next to a quiet neighbor. Turns out I had a guardian angel through the wall.
I’m leaving tomorrow and now I can’t stop thinking about all those nights I stumbled in late, tired and laughing, not knowing someone next door was listening for that small click of my door just to feel at peace.
Some people love you softly. So softly you don’t even realize you’re being cared for. 🖤😭

@Bukolababii If your man isn't comfortable for you to come over when you are on period, it tells you one thing.
He only sees you as a sex object and NOTHING else.
If you like keep deceiving yourself that he loves you yen yen yen.
You people don't shame things you're meant to shame.
You don't shame fraudsters. You idolize them. You don't shame scammers and cheats, you defend them but you're shaming a natural cause?
Period shaming? God why do I share a country with people like this???😭😪
I went through a massive reading slump in 2014. Today I typically read 30 books in a given month. And I want to offer some practical suggestions on how to get back into reading, from someone who’s done it.
Thread:
My aunty died and in her obituary, they wrote the messages of all her sons first before the ones of her daughters. Mind you, her first two children are girls. The last born is still in primary school. But his tribute came first before the tribute of his eldest sister. They made sure 1st son, 2nd son, 3rd son and 4th son were first before 1st child and first daughter.
So that tomorrow when Igbo men deceive you as an Igbo woman that you don’t need feminism because women can take chieftaincy titles in Onitsha. Misogyny is in so many different flavors and even the death of your mother will not save you from the disrespect that will be meted put on you because of your gender.
The fact that no one will write about the life the woman led before she married is even another one. You’ll be reading an obituary of a woman and all they can describe is how she was a “good wife and mother”. The woman could have been a singer, a tailor, a painter, a dancer etc but her being a good wife and mom will be all you read.
But when a man dies, something as irrelevant as how he used canoe to cross into Lagos will be recorded.
