@TheHubCanada@trevortombe Good points. But a more comprehensive and systematic approach to Canada’s dysfunctional federation is needed:

Kudos to Conservative MP Mike Dawson for turning down the automatic pay raise the MPs so generously and regularly award themselves from within the Ottawa bubble. His colleagues should not just match, but raise his initiative to include, say, an across-the-board 10 % reduction in the exorbitant salaries and gold-plated benefits of all MPs.
Millions of ordinary struggling Canadians, etherized by years of self-serving elite/faux-democratic governance out of Ottawa, resigned to our fading democracy and dysfunctional federation, would welcome practical initiatives like this that demonstrate a genuine commitment to real change.
We desperately need authentic voices and moral clarity in our politics to strengthen our shared values and ideals of dignity, democracy, and kindness, which is the key to a stronger, more coherent and powerful Canada. #cdnpoli
