WHO set the statutory price for an ounce of gold owned by our government at the remarkably LOW price of $44.2222 FIFTY THREE YEARS AGO on September 21, 1973?

Who is easy to answer: it was the Nixon Administration working with the US Congress in 1973 that set the $44.2222 rate.

That rate was being set at the same time Nixon was making the final moves to take the dollar completely off of any asset backing, changing it to being a completely fiat currency.

And so for the last 53 years, tricky bookkeeping has kept the gold reserves held by the US government in a fossilized condition. While inflation was eating everything alive.

Whatever Trump and Bessent have planned, it would seem to revolve around greatly expanding the purchasing power of the US dollar while simultaneously expanding the value of the ASSETS owned by the US government, in trust for the American people.

Alma Patricia Contreras Villafana is a 54-year-old Mexican national. An immigration judge ordered her out of this country in 2003. She never left.

Friday, Homeland Security arrested her at Howmet Aerospace in Torrance, California, where she worked as a machinist. Prosecutors say she lied on her I-9 in 1996 and claimed she was a U.S. citizen to get the job. This January she did it again and used someone else’s naturalization certificate number to keep it. They say she took home at least $1.4 million over about three decades.

Howmet builds jet-engine and titanium parts for the U.S. military, including work tied to the F-35. When agents showed up, she hid in a conference room for more than two hours while company officials kept them outside. Then they walked her out in cuffs. Eight federal counts. Court Monday in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, a woman in Nebraska is still alive.

Because her daughter didn't give up.
