Cessnock branch of the ALP in the NSW Hunter has unanimously backed this motion calling for Labor to dissolve AUKUS and reject any foreign military bases on Australian soil. Labor members across the country want to kick AUKUS into touch.
The Guardian and Ben Doherty have delivered a must read/ listen expose of how Marles, the ALP and Coalition have allowed the military colonisation of Australia by the Trump regime.
This reinforces the importance of the AUKUS Public Inquiry.
AUKUS a dangerous, disgusting sellout.
SEEDS OF REVENGE
ABC News, 1967. Bob Young reports from a refugee camp in Amman:
"Most of the refugees here are women and children... Virtually all of them bring stories of Israeli brutality. Several of their villages were deliberately destroyed so that they would have to move. They don't believe that the Western world wants to know that story. They say that Israel is the fifty-first state of the United States, and American imperialism is the cause of their misery."
Then, the closing line that echoes through the decades: "The only thing growing here are seeds of revenge."
Some stories don't age. They just get deleted and rewritten. 🧭
The US wants to invest over $500 million dollars into a mine to extract scandium from a NSW site for its defence systems. There is no other site globally that is suitable. Albanese should take Trump aside, and make the project conditional on scrapping the tariffs.
This screenshot is from the Blue Mountains Political Forum - and depicts the SMH suggesting that Pauline Hanson may have used party funds to pay for a five-star luxury hotel- and keep rooms vacant for some time while she flew to Italy with mining billionaire Gina Rinehart. It has been suggested that the party funds come from the $5 million “war chest” that Hanson leeched out of thousands of small donations from her “battler” base. The “fire the liar” campaign has recently bolstered the party’s coffers.
Is Hanson living high on the hog on her “fact finding” soirées and using money raised from ordinary Australians who have been sucked into the Hanson-is-for-the-battler vortex while donating money to her party that they can barely afford?
Pretty sure James Ashby - who in 2017 faced major controversy after leaked recordings revealed him discussing plans to profit off candidates and taxpayer funds during the QLD election - alongside earlier and later political and legal funding scandals - might know a thing or two about the leeching of funding from ordinary Australians as a part of a recent high-profile fundraising campaign. I am not suggesting that he did in this instance - I am suggesting that he has discussed a similar strategy in the past.
James Ashby was then Hanson’s chief of staff in 2017. Now Ashby is party director of One Nation and unencumbered by having to answer to too many party funding questions directly. Although after this exposure it is quite likely that Hanson will either double down on “it’s none of the public’s business” or the expenses will miraculously show up legitimately somewhere down the line.
Considering One Nation have 3 years of missing audited financial statements to present in QLD by 18 August 2026 or face potential deregistration in QLD - I expect they will have their hands full with some spectacular creative accounting in the near future.
While Hanson has made it quite plain that she believes herself to be above scrutiny and can pick and choose who she answers to from the journalistic pool, she is not above the law in this country. Her recent comments regarding the judicial system would indicate that she would like to dismantle that system and be a law into herself - which reminds me again exactly which billionaire is feeding her this crappola.
Hanson is NOT for the battlers. She proves that every single day and has spent over 3 decades profiting from creating culture wars and enabling hate. She has a proven record in parliament of voting against battlers, against workers rights, against vulnerable minorities, against the disabled and against those on benefits - while at the same time voting FOR the rights of billionaires, big business and FOR more tax concessions for the wealthy.
Make it make sense that she cares about battlers while she persecutes them every single day and profits from them.
ALP voters:
“Ditch AUKUS, Sack Jillian Segal, acknowledge the genocide, stand up to Trump and Netanyahu, ban gambling advertising, ban donations from lobby groups who dictate your policy, reinstate Ed Husic, listen to your constituents”
ALP:
“No. But, please vote for us anyway”
Yonatan Rothschild, an othodox Jewish man, explains why he shows up to protect palestinians everyday and to fight the settlers.
He represents a tiny sliver of Israeli society, but deserves to be seen.
There is a growing concern about the suppression of debate and alternative views within an increasingly authoritarian top down Labor party that discourages and suppresses debate under the guise of “unity”
Unlike @AlboMP and Jillian Segal, I believe that criticism of Israel cannot be regarded as antisemitic.
Therefore I will not accept their definition of antisemitism. It is divisive, it's bad for social cohesion, and an ominous sign for the future.
Whose with me?
Thank dog for our cartoonists.
Let’s just savour Cathy Wilcox for a minute or two.
I feel (almost) sorry for anyone who becomes the subject of her imagination which is so closely aligned with intelligence and artistic skill.
