@Munalozy Reminds me of when we visited a friend’s mom. We (my son, I was there to help him) used the toilet and saw a dry wash clothe there. Back home, we have one we used to wipe our hands after washing it and we did same.

Only to find out that’s the mom’s sponge. I felt so bad!

Using unverifiable stories or emotional claims to defend modern “tongues” doesn't hold up when tested against God’s Word. The Bible is our only authority (2 Timothy 3:16-17), not stories with no links or witnesses.

In Acts 2:4-11, when the apostles spoke in tongues, they spoke real, known languages. Jews from various nations each heard them speak in their own native language (v. 6, 8). There was no gibberish, it was clear, purposeful communication meant to confirm the gospel message.

Paul also addressed this in 1 Corinthians 14, teaching that tongues were meant to be understood or interpreted, never chaotic or confusing. “God is not the author of confusion” (1 Corinthians 14:33).

The purpose of tongues was to confirm the message of the gospel in the early church (Mark 16:20; Hebrews 2:3-4), not to impress or manipulate.

According to the New Testament Church, these miraculous gifts, including tongues, ceased when the complete revelation of God (the New Testament) was delivered (1 Corinthians 13:8-10). Today, we have God’s complete word, we don’t need miraculous signs to confirm it.

So, let’s stop deceiving people with unbiblical noise. True tongues were real, interpretable, and purposeful, and they served their role in confirming the gospel in the apostolic age.

My son recently lost his new 530 sneakers that he absolutely loved and he’s been really upset about it.

Just randomly remembered this my friend that placed me on a salary when I was struggling badly. It didn't matter if I worked for him or not, he'd pay me at the end of the month regardless. For over a year, his company would pay me directly even before other staff😀.

I will never forget how much that kindness helped me.
