One of my favorite things about building Canvas: we used novel synthetic data generation techniques, such as distilling outputs from OpenAI’s o1-preview, to fine-tune the GPT-4o to open canvas, make targeted edits, and leave high-quality comments inline.
This approach allowed us to rapidly improve the model and enable new user interactions, all without relying on human-generated data.
Best of all, developers can do it too using the new distillation product we announced at DevDay on Tuesday: https://t.co/uTtVD79Gdv
While today’s departures are tough, I’m incredibly excited and honored to lead research at @OpenAI alongside @merettm. I truly believe that OpenAI is the best place to work on AI, and I've been through enough ups and downs to know it's never wise to bet against us.
I still can't get over the fact that very soon, ChatGPT (and its vision capabilities) will be one button press away – for all iPhone 16 users 🤯
Such a slick experience from the Apple team
As a coach for the US IOI team, I’ve been motivated for a long time to create models which can perform at the level of the most elite competitors in the world.
Check out our research blog post - with enough samples, we achieve gold medal performance on this year’s IOI and ~14/15 on this year's AIME.
excited to share what we've been working on with apple 🤠 bringing chatgpt to so many new surfaces has been one of the highlights of my career - excited for you to see it later this year!
