@jennfrey@Tyler_A_Harper I don’t know, but it reminds me of Ratzinger’s childhood school. It was originally rooted in Greek and Latin studies and literature. A certain new regime came in and gradually replaced classics with modern languages (e.g., English) and modern science. P.E. replaced religious ed.
@theblessedsalt@jdflynn I didn’t see such posts, but I’m not surprised; the first Catholic I think of when I see JD is @jdflynn. It can take a minute to remember tha the VP is also a JD. 😁
I thought a tweet connecting a 1952 presidential campaign slogan and current ecclesial events via a pun would catch more attention. 🤷🏻♂️ C’est la vie. 😁
@Lafantom3 I have no way of knowing. I’m not sure it was already tried or not. I imagine the quickest way might be through fellow Dominican devotees issuing a petition? 🤷🏻♂️
One means of helping to heal wounds resulting from theological disputes between competing orthodox theological camps would be beatifications and canonizations of worthy scholastic figures. I am confident such worthy candidates exist. Perhaps this is a place to start:
@Lafantom3 No apology needed. I received a card regarding Journet’s cause, which prompted me to post a photo of it, in support, noting that this trend could/should continue with others.
@Lafantom3 It was the reception of the card regarding Journet’s cause that prompted the post, not the other way around.
Others are deserving alongside G-L, eg, Labourdette. G-L is the most widely known name, though, so I get that from a PR point of view.
@PhilCatholic It bothers me that your post said “translated from French; click to see the original.” It didn’t even guess the language correctly. Similarly, some montha ago I had to tell YT to stop auto-dubbing foreign language content. It worked for a while, but today it did it again. 😖
