Een Marokkaanse commentator in de studio bij zowel de NOS, VRT als de BBC. Ik weet niet of dat ook bij Duitse of Franse zenders het geval was. Vergis ik me, of is het eigenlijk vrij ongebruikelijk om een commentator uit het land van een spelend team in de studio te hebben?
Ik herinner me bijvoorbeeld geen Duitse commentator in de studio wanneer Duitsland speelt, of een Italiaanse wanneer Italië aan de beurt is. Zulke kleine details tonen hoe ver we in (West-)Europa soms gaan in onze identiteitspolitiek en diversiteitsdrang - tot op het punt dat het bijna karikaturaal wordt. Het is een psychologische ziekte
