Today a group of Yr 5 & 6 pupils had the opportunity to go to @TorquayBoysGS today.
We used microscopes to look at the heart rate of daphnia and dissected a cow eye.
Thank you Mrs. Thompson and TBGS.
We will conclude our science focus, with our Nursery and Reception children.

This week, pupils from Yr 3 & 4 have had the chance to work with Mrs. Thompson, supported by sixth formers. Their focus was food chains and energy in our food, they dissected pellets to identify animal bones and burnt crisps to work out the energy they contained.@TorquayBoysGS

🌱 Science at Decoy 🌱
This week we have been joined by some sixth formers from @TorquayBoysGS and their teacher Mrs. Thompson. Children from Year 1 & 2 were chosen to work with them. They made mesocosms and completed a line transect of the plants found on our school bank.

Wow! What an incredible effort everyone made for yesterday's science fair. Well done to all of our pupils, the standard of work was extremely high. 1st Prizes went to Zachary B and Darcy O, 2nd Prizes went to Marley O, Alana A, Sebastian K, and Jacob G.

This week our reception classes have had lots of fun having a Science focus. The children have really enjoyed the various experiments and have done some brilliant writing of their predictions.

We have had a great day today to celebrate the King's Coronation. There are lots of fun activities this afternoon. We will take some pictures as the day goes on and share them next week.

We will also need help with preparation during school hours on Friday 30th June (am), Saturday 1st July and cleanup on Sunday 2nd July.
DecoyFest is a huge event and unfortunately, without the help from volunteers, we will have to cancel this year’s event.

We had an early morning visitor bumbling along near the community room today! Maybe they were on their way for a snack from the school gardens! 🥦🥕🍎

Year 3 attended Farmwise at @WestpointExeter this week. The children learnt about farming in Devon and where their food comes from. At Farmwise the children could touch, feel and even smell how a farm works. It was an amazing day.
