Jay-Z thinks he’s above criticism (for things deserving criticism). He thinks the answer is a few a cappella bars, some “witty” punchlines, and the ability to retort to criticism by pointing to the material success he and his circle have accumulated.
And sadly…that’s enough for some folks.
AS a welterweight he was 131-1. FIGHTING welterweights he was undefeated. The only loss was to a prime Jake LaMotta, who was a middleweight, but against whom Ray weighed 144lbs. Gave up 16 lbs, and avenged the loss FIVE times!
Muhammad Ali once said that, “The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.” I am thinking about this with the way in which some folks who were “outside” in the early 2000’s consume popular culture in the 2020’s. Nostalgia should not negate your ability to have nuance and embrace an evolved standpoint.
18-year-old Nolan Xavier Wells from Mississippi went on a boat ride with his friends on the Fourth of July and never came back. His friends allegedly don’t remember anything 😳🙏🏽
"A teenager turns down Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA and Michigan to take graduate-level coursework as a college freshman at Berkeley, and the response from the people paying him millions isn’t excitement. It’s suspicion. That was never a scouting report. That was a diagnosis. And the disease was intelligence."

"Don't teach your babies about Crispus Attucks. Crispus Attucks
was the first one to die in the American Revolution. Hell, he should have died. Fightin' for them white folks. And our people weren't free. Teach your babies about Nat Turner, teach your babies about Denmark Vesey, teach your babies about Gabriel Prosser"

Nope. Folks don’t get to play this game. “Anonymous Sources,” whom NBA journalist have cited repeatedly, have said that Brown wasn’t even 7th best on his team, and that White is a top 5 player in the league. He’s an NBA All Star, and an Olympic gold medalists. Based on that and Boston having the “Coach of the Year” in Joe, and “Executive of the Year” in Brad, the Celtics should not only be fine, they should be a 1 seed and have 60+ wins next season. I mean with Brown leading the way they were a 2 seed with 56 wins.
He wants it to go back to the old days of when the alumni donors only had to buy an athletes parents a house or a car under the table. Those donors can't compete with the NIL bag which makes the playing field even
