“We are not spoilt. Unlike when we meet our father’s friends’ kids, we stay quiet and don’t say who we are. Life was easier before people recognized us. Some are comfortable with social media, but we’re not. Our goal is to build our father’s company to $100 B.”
—Halima Dangote
If you have 200 million people, you have the market, you don’t need to go anywhere. Everybody is coming to Nigeria to sell to us, and one person (Dangote) says, 'I’m going to produce those goods for this market.' You have to build the house, you have to eat, you have to drive your car, you have to enter the plane, you have to ride your motorcycle.

We are not expensive people and maintaining us is not expensive. Me, my daughters, and my family we are very down-to-earth. I have lived in my house for 36 years. We don’t have any needs. There is nothing I haven’t seen. What I want to leave as a legacy is the industrialization of Africa.
- Aliko Dangote
I asked my friend Patrick from Geneva why he put $15M into a SpaceX private placement after they lost $4.6B in Q1. He said: “I’m not investing in SpaceX. I’m investing in Elon Musk’s brain.” With $15M? Yes, he said. It will be good later.

Today, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, smiled all the way to the bank because, within the first six hours after the Nigerian Stock Exchange opened, the Dangote Refinery IPO raised approximately ₦1.5 trillion. Very satisfyingly, Mr Dangote shaded a particular person while subbing him when he praised President Bola Tinubu for making today possible by implementing the end of fuel subsidy.
₦1.5 trillion in six hours, and one man who could not even build a single nursery, primary, or secondary school in eight years, tells you Nigeria's economy is finished? Believe Gbajue, and you will believe anything!
By the time the total 24-hour tally is compiled, it might be ₦2.5 trillion or more. Much more. The Initial Public Offering will definitely be oversubscribed. This is a strong signal to the rest of the world about the health of the Nigerian economy.
Already, the Nigerian Stock Exchange is the most profitable bourse on Earth, bar none, according to Bloomberg. And the FTSE Russel has reclassified the Nigerian Stock Exchange as one of the highly rated frontier status markets. At the same time, J.P. Morgan has added Nigeria to its prestigious Government Bond Index–Emerging Markets Edge (GBI-EM Edge) with a 7.4% weighting.
This is a testament to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's handling of our economy, with our GDP having grown by an outstanding 4:43% in the last quarter alone, while our economy has overtaken South Africa to become Africa's second-largest manufacturing base, with Egypt only slightly ahead, even as our GDP has added $67 billion in just two years.
By garnering Nigeria's highest foreign reserves in eighteen years, at slightly over $54 billion, and stabilising the Naira to where it is adjudged the best-performing currency in Africa, President Tinubu has brought opportunity to Nigeria. And thanks to him, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and the rest of Nigeria can and will grow wealthier.
Do not let anyone fool you. Nigeria is not finished! We are only finished with poverty and entering an era of prosperity under His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and may Nigeria continue to prosper under President Tinubu!

DANGOTE REFINERY IPO: LOOKING FOR BAMBOO? ..DON'T SEARCH THE STOCKBROKER LIST!
==========
There are 55 officially approved subscription channels listed on the Dangote Refinery IPO website, made up of 20 bank/receiving channels and 35 electronic application channels.
This is where many retail investors may get confused.
If you want to subscribe through a digital platform like Bamboo, PiggyVest, Cowrywise, Flutterwave, Moniepoint, Paga or NGX Invest, you don't necessarily need to find them on the list of stockbrokers.
They are listed under the approved ELECTRONIC APPLICATION Channels for this IPO.
Some of these digital platforms are connected to or sponsored by approved capital-market operators, but the important thing is that the Dangote IPO website has officially listed them as channels through which you can apply.
So, before you subscribe, check the official list.
Don't search for Bamboo in the STOCKBROKER LIST. Look under Electronic Application Channels.

From Apple:
To buy, I pay $91.62 per month for 24 months.
To lease, I pay $63.80 monthly for 24 months.
I want the Duo for my needs; I could run a space on X and YouTube at the same time, but it is an expensive phone.
I will wait for my carrier to offer something.
I had already made up my mind to buy the Dangote Refinery IPO through @investbamboo, then boom! An enormous offer landed with @Afrinvest.
Now I’m reconsidering my options.
For those familiar with Bamboo and Afrinvest, what’s the difference between the two when it comes to subscriptions?
I’d particularly like to hear from people who have actually used both platforms. Thank you!
