Required reading: Matt Van Houten, Tompkins County DA, on the need to protect bail reform: lawmakers must reject “any and all efforts to remove the current standard… If we don’t protect bail reform, both justice and safety will be jeopardized.”

Bail reform is working and helping NY families! Tell lawmakers in Albany to protect bail reform and prioritize evidence-based solutions that strengthen communities and advance public safety. #protectbailreform

[The Legal Aid Society @LegalAidNYC]

Do you want to honor #MarvinMayfield today? He was a devoted organizer for bail reform and a survivor of Rikers. Take a moment RIGHT NOW to let @GovKathyHochul + legislators know that you oppose her plan to send more Black, brown, poor and working-class people to deathtrap jails.

[Melania Brown @melaniabrown11]

This #TransDayOfVisibility, I'm asking everyone to lift up my beautiful baby sister Layleen Polanco, who died of a seizure in solitary confinement at Rikers.

We cannot allow @GovKathyHochul to gut the bail laws so more families suffer like mine has.

My statement.

Budgets are moral documents which spell out in black and white what our values are. The data is clear. Housing, mental health services, employment opportunities, and education keep people safe. Rolling back bail reform does not. #NoRollBacks
