I have literally seen the left turn lane on the intersection before an on ramp get backed up and blocked with people trying to get into an on ramp with the right lane of that ramp nearly empty. And people gave me looks for using that ramp when i tried to merge.

It causes traffic further down the road, lets say the on ramp is 800 meters long, but there is 900 meters worth of cars trying to get on the freeway, they would be backed up to the previous intersection. Or they could take up only 450

@Xirma377 @FoodFreedomNH It literally blocks more shit when you merge too early, it stretches the traffic back further and leaves empty space in the right lane that could be used to condense the traffic.

@shanebbb @FoodFreedomNH This is wrong actually but ok. It causes a longer line which stretches traffic back further. They make extra lanes for a reason, so that the traffic can be condensed to multiple shorter lines and not cause congestion along more of the highway
