🚨 Small Boat Migrant, 31, who claimed bisexual persecution in Iraq, Rapes woman at London hostel.

Iraqi national Yousif Al-Maliki arrived illegally by small boat in September 2024 and was housed at the Astor Hostel in South Kensington.

On August 1, 2025, after drinking in Soho with an Indian student also staying there, he ignored her repeated "no"s, shoved her hands away, and raped her in the shared dormitory where anyone could have walked in.

Al-Maliki was convicted of rape at Southwark Crown Court and sentenced to six and a half years in prison.
His asylum claim based on alleged persecution for being bisexual has been paused, with deportation likely to follow.

Another grim reminder of a broken border and asylum system that puts vulnerable people at risk.
