Which is better, starting SIP at the top or bottom?
SIP data of nearly 30 years from WhiteOak Capital report shows that while the % return is marginally higher for SIPs started at the bottom of the market cycle, the absolute gain in rupee term is far higher for SIPs that began at the top.
The longer an investor waits for markets to bottom out, the greater the opportunity lost in terms of wealth creation.
Data shows an SIP invested on the “luckiest” day of the month in the BSE Sensex TRI between August 1996 and April 2026 delivered an XIRR of 13.80 percent, while investing on the “unluckiest” day still generated 13.32 percent.
A disciplined SIP made on a fixed date every month, such as the 15th, delivered a comparable 13.58 percent return.

Investors who don't have faith in power of social media, this post is for you.
After we voiced our concerns repeatedly on X tagging FM and GST Council:
GST slabs was modified - 5% and 18%
GST on Life & Health Insurance was reduced to ZERO
GST on 2 wheelers was reduced to 18%
GST on 4 wheelers was reduced to 18%
GST on essential education materials, including exercise books, notebooks, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, maps, and charts is ZERO Now
GST on Air conditioners, Televisions, Refrigerators, Washing machines reduced to 18% (I believe it should be much much lower)
Now, we want LTCG to be reduced and also abolished if investor holds for more than 2 years !!! Long Term Investing should be incentivized. Retail Investors should be Rewarded for Holding Long Term.
FM Madam @nsitharaman ji will definitely have to consider in Budget 2026 !!!!
Let us do our bit, keep the faith and share widely. Tag Madam and respectfully voice our concerns.
I know that they are listening. Are we voicing out loud enough???

The real magic of sip starts after 7 years.
As the tenure of SIP grows, so is the proportion of gains in total corpus.
That’s why it makes sense to do SIP for LT and not to take money out as much as possible.
Gujarat has a 5% population of India but contributes to,
- 1/4th of India's total exports.
- 1/4th of India's Milk is produced in Gujarat.
-1/4th of India's Cotton is produced in Gujarat.
- 8 out of 10 diamonds in the world are polished in Gujarat.
Impressive. Won’t be of any use during the kind of cyclone flooding in cities we’ve been experiencing, but I hope technologies like these become affordable & are adopted widely. They would make a big difference during normal monsoon downpours
Dad sees a car in a restaurant parking lot that looks like his old one, which he had to sell to support the family. He gets emotional, sharing stories, and then the daughter surprises him by handing him the keys. ❤️🚗
I enjoy #SharkTankIndia as a program and I think it is a great platform for our budding entrepreneurs.
