A CA Final student with a permanent exemption (50E) scored:

DT & IT : 58 ✅
IDT : 43 ❌
IBS : Exempted (50E)

Aggregate of papers: 151/200, yet the result is UNSUCCESSFUL because ICAI requires 50+ marks in each remaining paper after claiming permanent exemption.

Should @theicai revisit this provision and consider an aggregate-based approach similar to ICSI?

Many deserving students are falling short despite demonstrating overall competence.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs is considering the creation of a unified academic authority for Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

More than dozen people of expert committee has been constituted to evaluate this proposal and recommend a structured framework.

The government is working towards establishing an Indian Institute of Accounting to standardize examinations and curriculum across these professional bodies.

The objective is to bring greater uniformity, consistency, and global alignment in the academic structure of accounting and corporate governance professions.

Another key focus is to reduce overlap in syllabus and streamline learning pathways for students.

Importantly, the professional regulatory authority of ICAI, ICSI, and ICMAI will remain unchanged.

No November attempt from this year

CA students will now be able to celebrate Diwali festival which coincided with November Exams.

It may be noted that this is implemented from this year itself so students planning to appear in

“November 2025 will have to either plan for September 2025 if eligible or January 2026”

All the compliances for eligibility also have to be accordingly.

#WATCH | Delhi: On study conducted on 5000 heart attack patients, Professor of Cardiology, GB Pant Hospital, Dr Mohit Gupta says, "... In India, a heart attack happens 10 years before the death of a person. It is more severe. Often, if you and I go to a doctor and ask what the risk of a heart attack is, to calculate that, we have risk scores... All the risk scores that we have are either using Western risk scores, which are made up of 6 or 7 risk scores. We believed that if we apply these risk scores to the Indian population, that is, what are the chances of a heart attack in 10 years, if we apply these risk scores to the Indian population. These risk scores should not be validated for us because when these scores were made, they were made on the Western population... When we used Western risk scores in Indian heart attack patients, we saw that 80% of the people were classified in low risk and moderate risk..." (2.4)
