I was also honored to meet this week with @SenRubenGallego who is going to be a fantastic champion for Arizona and a great ally to South Asian American communities.
It's always a pleasure to meet with my Senator @AndyKimNJ! Grateful for his invaluable leadership in protecting immigrant families and his commitment to supporting New Jersey’s AAPI small business owners.
Let's not forget that America is a nation of immigrants. Our diversity is our strength -- it powers our economy and our culture.
We must commit to reforms that create a fair immigration system that helps power America's progress.
The past few days have been disheartening, seeing the racist attacks on Indian Americans.
People can disagree on policy but these virulent attacks on immigrant communities have no place anywhere in American politics and they need to be condemned by all political leaders.
I am an Indian American who was born here and it's crystal clear that the Democratic Party sees me as American and a large part of the base of the Republican Party does not. I hope Indian Americans remember this moment at the next election. They don't see you as one of them. And never will.
You thought they just hated other immigrants. But it turns out there's no exception for you. As many of us have been telling you.
Just a few hardworking Indian AMERICANS interrupting our holiday break to remind y'all:
1. Immigrants power America—diversity isn’t a weakness; it's what makes us exceptional.
2. MAGA extremists want to erase this and build a white ethno-nationalist state. We won’t let them.
