@TheJennyologist@APGgenealogy @ngsgenealogy I added extra time to when I told the client I would get to a project vs when I expected to start. This way I could deliver the project b4 the deadline or had a decent buffer to manage multiple projects if I got busy. Early communication w/client was key - most were ok w/waiting
@SlavicGen So true! The headstone of Andy Warhol’s mother (maybe one of the most famous Slovak Americans) also has an incorrect birth date. https://t.co/8yyvgAGoie
@justinesherry Contacting the creator is good. When I did rights for the Warhol email confirmation was fine but some publishers are more cautious and wanted a signature. Do some Googling/reverse image searching to confirm no one else is claiming to be the creator. Maybe ask CMU libraries 4 help
@DigiRoots@nyfamilyhistory Sad to have missed this! Will you be giving it again? I was one of the lucky grad students tasked with loading up the American Institute of Deltiology’s postcard collection into the library van when it was donated to the University of Maryland. https://t.co/vkcrNbAzko
@dave_andersen@andy_pavlo With the letters being in folders with names and date ranges, you're already in better shape than most archives I have worked at.
Also, collection curation is a good thing - throw those check registers away!
Hope everyone is on the mend, and you have easy travels back home.
The work @Ancestry did to index the 1950 U.S. census so quickly was incredible, but the hint suggestions on the homepage sometimes make me laugh.
Ah! I finally found the *checks hints* mother-in-law of my granduncle 🤷♀️

@TheJennyologist @SkolonkoWeet Such an interesting find @TheJennyologist! After seeing @SkolonkoWeet's comment I can't see anything but Rose. Definitely not Mary because it looks nothing like the last entry on the page that is clearly Mary.
@lissity As I saw this in my Twitter feed a 2.5 year old leaned over my shoulder, pointed, and said "look garbage truck!" This picture made her evening. 😆
You guys. We got access to their beta site. 🥸
They're putting the historical NYC vital record scans online at 8 AM -- and they're NOT charging the public to see the images.
The records are FREE. FINALLY.
They're...actually going to follow the law! 🤩
