@BaseballJeff1 It's not just the miscommunications, but also that so many players are comfortable complaining to the media about it. I suspect on a more cohesive team that has everyone's buy-in, players would not be airing dirty laundry as much...
@susanslusser@annkillion@sfchronicle I think this is newsworthy -- below is an except from Manfred's response letter to Senator Hawley about the Pride incident. Manfred says the Giants communication about the issue was "inadequate" and that they had a "lapse in communication."
@GiantHotTakes Glad you included the OAA for Willy, at the most important defensive position. He's dead last among all MLB shortstops, and it's not even close. Truly embarrassing.
@BaseballJeff1 Not trying to be a Posey apologist, but what relievers should they have signed? They signed Hentges, who looks fine so far in a small sample, and Killian. There's a lot to criticize Posey for, but not sure the 'pen is one of them.
@sf_game@PavlovicNBCS Apparently Schmitt has been taking flyballs in the OF. No idea but maybe Bader sits, Schmitt in RF, Ramos in LF, JHL in center? That would be a horrendous defensive OF so who knows...
@BaseballJeff1 Who's ABs is he going to take away, though? Not Schmitt's, and they are not going to consistently sit Devers for him, so my guess is they will wait for an injury or a phantom IL.
@StevenRissotto My best guess is that TV is trying to find a closer. If he wants to give that opportunity to Winn, then he lets Winn take on Schwarber in hopes of building that confidence. If you keep playing matchups you'll never have a true closer. Obviously it all backfired here so π€·ββοΈ
@BaseballJeff1 Several questionable decisions so far. He sent someone with one out in the Nats' series who was out by a mile. Inexcusable. Then he gave Chappy a stop sign that Chappy ran through and scored. Then this send last night. Would love to see some 3B coach stats / comparisons.
@BaseballJeff1 I suspect Will Brennan will find himself in the mix sooner rather than later. Off to good start in Sac, lefty, plays all OF positions. Not saying he'll be a difference-maker but they don't have a lot of other options... Gilbert and McCray off to slow starts in Sac.
