NBC reports that the scrutiny surrounding Ariana Grande’s body has been triggering individuals with eating disorders:
“Several care providers said their clients have been overwhelmed with emotions, including fear and anger, as they watched thousands of people leave a mixture of worried and cruel comments about Grande’s body.”
it’s hard to take the “concern” train seriously, when it’s obvious that just opened the gate for yall to start dissecting her every move💀 “infantilizing herself” she’s probably talking the most like herself in this video than she has in a minute tbh lol
@benghazi_ebooks so what i’m getting is her mother should publicly shit on/air out her daughters dirty laundry so people on the internet know she cares?💀 you people are beyond delusional
i could almost swear that is whole thing is just morbid fascination for them and they want her to die so they can get there documentary in 3 years time
I'll have more to say on this soon. I've covered body image in Hollywood for a while. While we don't know what Ariana is going through privately, this seems coordinated and calculated. She drops her album two days ago, releases a music video literally about being thin, where she shows off her emaciated body, and suddenly her team is upset there's "scrutiny" of her public image? You can't have it both ways. She does this cat and mouse game. Her song is called "petal" and she paints herself as this thin delicate flower, showing off every bone and rib, then it's 'how dare you' discuss her body. There's literally a scene in the video about her weight. I hope she does take some time off to reflect and get well. But she's playing into things herself. She's very online and likes to feed the beast. Then she's a victim of public scrutiny. We're not allowed to discuss? Ok...
@imperfectforgyu@8_87453@ohmymotive you’re so fucking dense💀 obviously i’m talking about the whole “she looks better in person!! she’s not sick!!” talk in the post i REPLIED to.
@perfectgrrl they do it in the hopes that if (god forbid) ariana does succumb to an ED, they can “i told you so” up and down the timeline💀 it’s all about being the most “morally correct” person even if it means being insensitive and invasive
@etrnlmwinds@dayIightjade “well obv it not working” I know someone who fell into an eating disorder in a matter of months and it took her 5 YEARS to make a somewhat recovery and still then she has lifelong complications. Sometimes it’s easier said than done, these things take time to recover from!!
