Really sick of this insipid opinion that critics should only review art that they like or think they will like.
If you want to watch what that kind of critic is like you already can, it's on a YouTube channel called "Chris Stuckmann".
@fandomxgoddess@plantagenite It's only after the introduction of the Internet that we saw this cry for "objectivity", since audiences could now better have their voices heard and certain actors in the industry realized it's better to just appeal directly to the audiences tastes rather than challenge them.
@fandomxgoddess@plantagenite Uh no, that is not how any critic before the introduction of internet "critics" operated. Their entire offering was their taste and they used their writing to communicate why they had that taste to their readers.
Doesn't help that the majority of women who feed into this are straight women looking to excuse their own homophobia and whom have literally zero space to speak on a community with much more consistently progressive values towards women than hetero women themselves.
Genuinely freakish how one sided the gays vs lesbians beef is.
I've never seen this type of poster in my life before, but we'll never hear the end of "gay misogyny" until the sun explodes.
@Rhinestonefilms@NightyDelusions@ILMFlinkenstein@Choppedworld That was the implication, especially when you mention other Padawan. Also of not is the fact that Anakin was uncharacteristically old to be accepted as a Padawan which is how he forms his attachment to his mother. The void left by her forms the vice which Padme eventually fills.
@Rhinestonefilms@NightyDelusions@ILMFlinkenstein@Choppedworld In the story, it adds to the romance btwn the two (This contrast is the same thing that made Han and Leia's romance so effective) and creates a more palpable sense of Anakin being torn between his attachments and his duties as a Jedi.
This scene practically screams it at you.
@allowableman2@lukeisamazing Because it's not about trade. It's a false flag to erode trust in the bureaucracy of the Senate. The Trade Federation were played and got nothing from the invasion.
So why focus on the politics of something that was never going to happen in the first place?
@NightyDelusions@Choppedworld 90% of his opinions were ripped directly from the plinkett reviews (like literally all other Prequel reviews at that time).
