Encounter is clearly not a game for everybody, but the Steam algorithm links the visibility of a game to the number of whish lists it has received, so if you feel like wish-listing the game on your Steam account that would be very appreciated! ๐

@Radio_Russell It's definitely not a perfect game, far from it, but as a first project to work on it was great, learned a ton of things (compilers, video compression, data streaming, etc...), it will always have that special place in my heart :)
I guess to balance the craziness of last week, the only logical thing was that the first game I worked on 31 years ago finally got remastered.๐คช

I've not tried it yet, but analog controls should be a nice fix!
@MossyGroveGames Just installed it, nice way to show the controls, that being said, the options at the bottom are a bit hard to read with the "P | I" and "Adjust Camera" being in white on stop of some white background elements.
@verekia Imo "Slop" has nothing to do with AI specifically. AI just makes it easier to be sloppy: Half baked ideas, crappy code, not using masking tape when painting, not removing rust before doing body repair, etc... all that is "slop" in my book.
@fabianstelzer I don't want to rain on the parade, but there's been known fax attacks in the past, with ways to basically make a fax machine waste all the paper very fast at cheap cost to the caller.

@richardmantool Many reasons really.
One is that games used to be designed about a core idea (which may not please to everybody) while many new games are trying to please as many people as possible, which obviously by definition results in something "average" at best.
Upload access has been disabled on the Defence Force apache server which means posting messages is now impossible.
This will be restored after the php update has been successfully been done and validated.
For the ones wondering why there's been no updates on the Oric Dungeon Master these few last weeks: Let's just say that there's been a number of "curveballs" and events that took precedence and had to be handled.
And now there's a critical php exploit.
*sigh*
@animtree Well, nobody cloned my adventure game, but as someone else mentioned, it's not really a genre that has a lot of traction and it does not make much money.
@Grishakof Thanks, do like to document things, firstly for myself (so I don't do the same mistakes again!) and for others so my own mistakes don't become theirs :)
3D printing is not magic, but it's very handy!
Now the control monitor fits under the screen and follows the angle and shape of the Stream Deck.
The sticking HDMI and power cables are not ideal, but good enough for now!
@itemgatestudios Possibly also has something to do with the "wishlist friday" or whatever where people wishlist each other games just to have more whishlists to reach the mythical 7000+ number that marketing experts tell you you need to have at launch.
@RetroRacing What would be possible it to generate additional intermediate frames, and only load them if there is enough ram in the machine :)
The problem is mostly in smaller sizes where it feels weird, it's fine when they are very close to the player.
