@xxxcuntacion There were definitely intentionally funny parts, and even some parts that blurred the lines of horror and uncomfortable comedy. But for my first showing when I heard my theater erupt in laughter when Bear was crying over his cat I knew what I was in for. Psychopaths
@Little_Ladd@packersloren Complaining about an oppressed group getting recognition shows that you indeed do care about gay people existing.
If you guys wouldn’t complain, the posts would never have to be made in the first place
@limonpapii@si4rra I didn’t watch one of the youtube videos and I understood it just fine.
Not implying that people who didn’t like the movie didn’t understand it, but I strongly feel it’s not a difficult movie to comprehend at all
@DrownNatha62605@Johnny_Boi06 I can see why some might think Galactus didn’t look good but I personally thought it was a masterwork of VFX, their use of miniatures really helped sell it
@ClugiMaximum@Tomaswept He by definition, would be considered a victim in the relationship between him and evil Nikki. She threatens suicide if he doesn’t sleep with her, threatens his life, kills his friends, etc.
Obviously the nuance is, real Nikki is the true victim under all of this
@CodyGDalton@Ravenger___ It’s when the boyfriend first goes down the slide thing with the rope, and he starts analyzing the laundry piles. The face is inside the laundry
@spermedx3@ashenly__ Yes, in the Obsession universe wishing for someone to love you is considered a cursed wish.
That doesn’t change the fact that in real life, you’d be implying many are evil, rather than just ignorant which seems like the more likely explanation for why one would wish this irl
@spermedx3@ashenly__ Yeah, the movie makes a commentary on that. No one’s saying the wish is a good thing, but it is something nearly everyone has done at one point. The commentary is “don’t seek your worth in others”. Not that making said wish is inherently evil, even if it IS the wrong thing to do
@spermedx3@ashenly__ Yes, nearly every person on this planet has muttered “I wish she just liked me!” or some sort of variation. The difference is in real life we have the luxury of said wish not coming true.
@spermedx3@ashenly__ Everyone has made a similar wish in life. Whether it’s by birthday candles, wishing upon a star, or simply in their head. It’s not inherently evil to wish such a thing, it’s human nature.
The issue is when he realized it worked he took advantage of the situation
@spermedx3@ashenly__ On accident. How he responded to it and took advantage is what makes him the villain.
But evil Nikki used abusive tactics towards him as well, which explains some of why he does what he does in the movie.
@Skarlet_Warrior@ashenly__ Not really? From the moment he knew the wish worked (the dinner scene—as confirmed in the script), only around 36 hours passed until he ended up dying.
One full day and 2 nights
@TheLonelyPepe@jsrrayburn Well not exactly great.
It’s average for a horror movie, but you could debate that a C+ is the average, so maybe slightly higher than average.
So definitely good enough but great by even horror standards
