Lukaku had a run of games. Falcao had a run of games. Ibrahimović had a run of games. Cavani had a run of games. Rashford had a run of games as a No.9. Højlund had a run of games.

They were allowed to play through bad games, build rhythm, understand their teammates and gain confidence. Some needed plenty of starts before reaching 20 goals.

But Sesko? 36 games, 19 starts, 14 goals.

And this guy still can’t get 5 straight starts under Carrick.

I’m honestly bloody frustrated. WHAT ARE WE DOING?

If Sesko has a bad game, TAKE HIM OFF. That’s what substitutions are for. But how are you supposed to build confidence and consistency when your No.9 is constantly being dropped before he can even establish a rhythm?

And Mbeumo and Sesko clearly understand each other’s movement when they play together.

So START THEM. Let them build chemistry.

We keep talking about needing a proper No.9, then when we actually have one scoring 14 goals in 19 starts, we keep putting him on the bloody bench.
