Finally got around to picking up our trophy for ‘best game’ from @DigiArt_UoCIA. Daughter is super happy and can’t wait to take into school. She now wants to make games when she’s older 😁. Future dev @GirlsMakeGames#gamedev#ue4#gamedesign#indiedev
@Peter__Field @AsherEinhorn I have seen this, someone at the Uni has printed it and had it on the walls in class. It’s really helpful thanks, I try to implement as much of it as possible when working on my designs 👍🏻
@AsherEinhorn @Peter__Field The brief was described as if designing a level that would fit into one of their released projects. In the past I have signed NDAs during placements, so I am aware of them, but none where mentioned during this process. Please don’t sue me, I’m only a poor student 🥲
@AsherEinhorn @Peter__Field I’m unsure whether I can actually say? Is it allowed? I don’t know if there is an unspoken rule about naming who a level design test was made for, but I’m sure you can hazard a guess from my slides lol law suit averted 😉
@AsherEinhorn @Peter__Field Unfortunately they didn’t specifically request a format. Their brief stated to ‘use whatever method best illustrates your design intent’ so I assumed (falsely by the looks of it lol) designing it in unreal wouldn’t be an issue.
@petervesti I just assumed that the large amount of applicants was normal for graduate positions lol. It was the first role I have applied for so I was just happy to get to the design stage to get some experience.
@leveldesign_org@notimetoulose That was my second thought, after all they would need to play the level. The website that the company used did not allow me to upload the source files directly, so I added a link in both my slide presentation, and in the original submission to my itch account.
@notimetoulose I did not. Due to the time limit and the brief stating to “use whatever method best suits your design intent” I completed the layout directly in the engine. For me personally this is a much quicker workflow than using maya, or sketch up etc. Perhaps I have done it wrong lol
