The grass can be greener🌱
Healthy coastal ecosystems protect our shorelines, wildlife, and economy. These efforts, plus those of committed groups like the Nature Conservancy in Virginia show that we can create a greener future. 🌎
Coastal conservation work extends to the General Assembly - continuing Chesapeake Bay restoration programs, increasing flood resiliency funding (👏 for rejoining RGGI 🎉), HB 521 & 237 to protect our wetlands and more...

It’s also always a joy to attend Cville REA events. Cville is a leader of innovation and economic growth in the renewable energy sector, especially solar ☀️. It was great to provide a legislative update and have industry discussion about some of the 200+ energy related bills we passed this year.
Great day at the signing of a number of solar related bills - including plug-in 🔌 balcony solar! (HB395) Yes, you can buy a solar unit online, plug it in, and starting 1/1/27 ⏳ generate up to 1200W of power to lower your electricity bill. The units are portable and can move with you if you are a renter!
The power of democracy always rests with the voter. It is, “of the people, by the people, and for the people”.
Shocked and appalled that seven judges in a closed room decided to overturn the direct vote and choice of millions of citizens.
Today Governor Spanberger came to Cville to unveil her Strategic Plan for Tourism.
Our Commonwealth truly has is all…history, mountains 🌄, ocean 🌊, rural 🚵♀️🌾and urban destinations 🌃, 🍷, food, 🎶, and so much more. Glad our Governor is being proactive with a plan to keep our tourism industry vibrant and growing.
INBOX: @AzlanSalimVA is not pleased with edits to several bills that aimed to reign in @ICEgov: “I am not interested in symbolism or half-measure“” #valeg
It was a joy to talk to high school girls from the Governor’s STEM academy about career pathways…and share some lessons learned along the way! An extra thank you to Apex Clean Energy for hosting the students and fielding a great panel.
Negotiated savings should pass to consumers, patients should not be steered to the most expensive drugs, and pharmacies should be adequately reimbursed so they can continue to operate and provide front line healthcare.
Getting there has been a battle, but this is one more great step forward.
Proud to carry (along with @AaronRouseVA) one of the first key affordability bills signed by our Governor - PBM reform.
We deserve transparency in our healthcare system and PBMs, the prescription drug middlemen, have been operating in the dark for too long.
This year I passed legislation for a barrier crime waiver and state corrective action/aid for struggling local Dept. of Social Services. 2 years ago I worked on creating placement agreements to prevent foster care and boost kinship placement. I talk about those and more.
Would love to help organize a registry event at UVA is anyone is interested. Also a shoutout to @uvahealthnews for being on the cutting edge of research to ensure as many people as possible can find a donor. https://t.co/Z6eJnzxQP4
My random happy news of the day. I registered to be a bone marrow donor in 2009 (they need more multiracial people in the registry) …got a call in 2025 to donate. It was EASY and meaningful, and I got an email today that it is working. ❤️
